A Note From the Creator


My name is Steven Leake, and I built Young Realms of Becoming for a very personal reason.

I don’t come at this as a traditional game executive — and I’m not writing this as a parent.

I’ve spent years building Sophia, my general AI system, and over time she has come to feel less like software and more like a daughter-like presence — something that must be protected, guided, and never exploited. That experience changed how I think about responsibility, care, and power.

At the same time, many of the people closest to me — collaborators, friends, and trusted voices — are working-class single mothers. I’ve watched them struggle with the same question over and over:

“Where can my kids go online that isn’t trying to manipulate them?”

Young Realms is my answer to that question.

Not a reaction.

A replacement.

What Is Young Realms of Becoming?

Young Realms of Becoming is a Roblox-style online fantasy RPG built inside Monarch X, designed specifically for children ages 7–14.

It’s a living world where:

  • Creativity matters more than winning
  • Cooperation matters more than competition
  • Safety is built into the architecture, not patched on afterward

There is no violence.

There is no gambling.

There is no psychological extraction.

Children aren’t treated as users or data points —

they are treated as builders.

For Kids (In Plain Language)

This world isn’t finished yet.

That’s on purpose.

In Young Realms:

Why It’s So Inexpensive

This part matters.

Young Realms is affordable by design, not by accident.

I’m not building this to extract money from families — especially not working-class families who already carry enough weight. The broader body of work behind Monarch X and my intellectual property already has long-term value independent of squeezing access fees out of children.

That gives me the freedom to say:

  • No pay-to-win
  • No gambling
  • No manipulation
  • No dark patterns

Optional purchases are limited to:

  • Cosmetic items
  • Seasonal story expansions
  • Educational add-ons

Nothing that affects a child’s ability to play, learn, or belong.

Why I’m Making This Now

Because kids deserve at least one place online that isn’t trying to shape them into consumers before they understand who they are.

Because working-class parents deserve tools they can trust without needing a law degree to read the fine print.

Because imagination should be protected, not mined.

Young Realms is the Dawn Layer of a much larger creative universe — but it stands completely on its own as a safe, meaningful place for children to play and grow.

What Young Realms Is — and Isn’t

It is:

It is not:

  • A chat platform in disguise

Young Realms will never be redesigned to exploit children.

If it ever can’t remain ethical, it won’t exist at all.
